Learn
Practical wellbeing. Honest observations. Real conversations.
Welcome to Learn
This is where I share observations from nearly twenty years of working alongside individuals, families, schools, workplaces and communities.
It's not a collection of quick tips or perfect answers.
It's a place to pause.
To recognise something you may have stopped noticing.
To understand yourself a little differently.
Every article begins with something real.
A conversation.
A moment.
A question.
An observation.
Because I've learnt that people rarely ignore themselves on purpose.
More often, they become so used to carrying certain things that they stop noticing the weight.
If these articles do anything, I hope they help you recognise yourself with a little more kindness.
Because sometimes understanding doesn't begin with an answer.
Sometimes it begins with someone quietly saying...
"I've noticed something."
What you'll find here
Every article explores wellbeing through the experiences of everyday life.
Not just stress.
Not just mental health.
But the way we live, work, care for others and carry ourselves through the world.
Topics include:
Personal Wellbeing
Workplace Wellbeing
SEND & Family Wellbeing
Women's Wellbeing
Community Wellbeing
Society & Human Behaviour
Every piece is written with one purpose:
To help you notice what you've stopped noticing.
My promise to you
I won't write simply to fill a page.
I won't tell you how you should live.
I won't offer quick fixes to complex experiences.
What I will do is share honest observations, thoughtful reflections and practical insights drawn from
years of listening to people and paying attention to the patterns that often go unnoticed.
If, after reading an article, you pause for a moment and think,
"I've never thought about it like that before."
then I've achieved exactly what I hoped.
Take a moment...
Before you begin reading...
Take one slower breath.
Drop your shoulders.
Notice where you are right now.
Sometimes the most important thing we can do isn't rush to the next answer.
It's simply notice where we are.
Welcome to Learn.
The Child Wasn't the Only One Waiting for Answers
Sometimes a child's journey through the SEND system quietly becomes a parent's journey too.
